According to Lubinets, of the 119 defenders, some were verified as prisoners of war, and the other part was not verified. Three soldiers were even considered to be dead.
The Ombudsman noted that the visits are a tool to understand that the defenders of Ukraine are alive.

At the same time, the same number of Russian prisoners of war were visited by representatives of the office of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Lubinets said at the time that Ukrainian soldiers who the Russians captured recorded a video appeal to their relatives.
