Lubinets urged international partners not to cover the "elections" in the occupied territories of Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, called on international partners and foreign journalists not to participate in the coverage of events related to pseudo-elections in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Why it is not necessary to cover the "elections" in the occupied territories of Ukraine

Lubinets noted that since 2014, the enemy has been trying to achieve its military and political goals in Ukraine, in particular, thanks to propaganda campaigns aimed not only at Russians, but also at Ukrainians and the international audience.

This is exacerbated on the eve of pseudo-elections of the "president" of the aggressor country at the TOT. The occupiers are using their propaganda media and "Kremlin mouthpieces" to cover these "elections", and they are also trying to involve foreign journalists in this. The goal remains the same — to make the appearance of legality not only for the domestic audience, but also for citizens of other countries. Therefore, I am appealing to international partners and foreign journalists: do not take part in the coverage of the events at the TOT of Ukraine related to the pseudo-elections, - noted Lubinets.

He emphasized that "Ukraine is independent and sovereign, and the Russian "elections" for TOT are illegitimate."

They violate international humanitarian law. In addition, a trip to the TOT of Ukraine is legally prohibited through the territory of Russia. It can also be dangerous for your life, as there are ongoing hostilities there, and Russian soldiers walk the streets with weapons, Lubinets explained.

Illegal "elections" of the President of the Russian Federation began in the captured territories of the Zaporizhzhia region

"Early voting" in the "elections" of the president of Russia, illegally organized by the invaders, begins today in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region.

"For three weeks, TOT residents will collect votes in support of Putin - members of "voting committees" with ballot boxes, accompanied by armed security forces, will come to every house, stop them on the streets, and visit social institutions. From March 15 to 17, people will be driven to "polling stations". in order to fulfill the task of the Kremlin and local Gauleiters: to gather support for the dictator at the level of 94%," the message reads.

In order to increase the pressure on the population of the TOT, the Russian authorities sent special forces there, which will falsify the results during the pseudo-voting. Also, the occupiers increased the number of law enforcement officers in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region in order to control the organization of the election process.
