French President Emmanuel Macron will hold a meeting of European leaders and government representatives regarding Ukraine on February 26.

Meeting in Paris regarding aid to Ukraine

The purpose of the meeting was announced at the Elysee Palace.

Two years after the start of the invasion of Ukraine, this working meeting will be an opportunity to study ways to boost the level of cooperation between partners in support to Ukraine, the statement said.

French officials say Macron is determined to message Moscow that Europe is not "fatigued with Ukraine," despite concerns about continued U.S. support.

Borrell called on EU members to provide ammunition to Ukraine

The day before, it became known that the high representative of the European Union for foreign policy and security policy, Josep Borrell, wrote a letter to MFA and MOD chiefs of the EU region.

In it, he noted that the lack of ammunition stands in the way of the struggle of the Ukrainian military against the Russian Federation.

He called on the EU members to support Ukraine in all possible ways, particularly by finding additional shells in their warehouses, placing defence orders, or financing the Ukrainian defence industry.

Doing nothing is not an option, he emphasised in the letter.

In March 2023, the EU agreed to provide Ukraine with one million ammunition during the year, but this goal was not achieved.

In February 2024, the EU will transfer 355,000 shells, by the end of March it is planned to provide another 524,000, and by the end of the year — 1,155,000.
