According to Forbes, France intends to send about two dozen Dassault Mirage 2000D fighter-bombers to Ukraine.

Ukraine can get hypersonic fighters for the first time

The Forbes journalists managed to find out that the French leader may announce the transfer of his planes shortly.

It may have happened during Emmanuel Macron's visit to Ukraine.

What is essential to understand is that Paris officially bought 86 Mirage planes 30 years ago. Several failed, and 55 France decided to modernise for its own needs.

Forbes also suggests that the French Air Force has about 20 aircraft that are surplus to the country's needs and could be transferred to Ukraine.

What should Ukraine do to get fighter jets from France

The publication's editors highlight that Ukraine will have a unique infrastructure for these aircraft and train its pilots to work with the Dassault Mirage 2000D.

However, the investment may be worth it, Forbes emphasises.

According to the journalists, it is doubtful that Ukraine will ever receive a surplus of military aircraft from official Washington, so France's help will be significant.

The Mirage can be sent to Ukraine shortly after Kyiv also receives a large batch of Hammer missile bombs, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 55 kilometres, the publication writes.
