French President Emmanuel Macron was supposed to come to Ukraine on February 13-14, but the planned visit was postponed.

Macron postponed his visit to Ukraine

The French business magazine Challenges reports that the postponement of the visit "raised many questions from both French civil servants and managers, as well as Ukrainian diplomats."

According to the publication, the participants of the trip learned about it "just now".

According to Challenges, Macron was supposed to go to Odesa, and then go to Kyiv.

The French president was scheduled to announce the creation of a 200 million euro reconstruction fund to be paid as donations for civilian projects.

Macron's visit to Ukraine: what is known

In January, Macron announced that he plans to visit Ukraine in February, and to transfer 40 long-range Scalp missiles and "hundreds of bombs" to Ukraine.

France has already delivered Scalp missiles in the summer of 2023. Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu at the time noted that the delivered missiles had been modified to have a range of only 250 kilometers, not 500.

Macron also noted that France is "in the process of finalizing a security agreement" with Kyiv.

On February 10, President Zelensky held telephone talks with Macron. They discussed the current situation on the battlefield and Ukraine's defense needs, including unmanned aerial vehicles, artillery systems and ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, and various types of air defense systems.

They also discussed the development of security commitments within the framework of the G7 Vilnius Declaration.
