As the head of NATO's military committee, Rob Bauer, said, Avdiivka should not be considered a major loss from a military point of view.

Withdrawal of the Armed Forces from Avdiivka. How is NATO commenting on this decision?

Rob Bauer draws attention to the fact that the entire infrastructure of the city has been destroyed by massive Russian bombings.

According to him, Avdiivka no longer exists as a settlement.

In military terms, this is not a big loss (Avdiivka — ed.). They destroyed the entire infrastructure. Therefore, there is no city. There are still a couple of hundred meters.

The NATO representative also emphasizes that the situation at the front really remains difficult, but, despite this, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not in danger of collapse or major failures on the battlefield.

Pessimists lose wars. Is it difficult for Ukraine? So. If you had asked in 1942 in Europe: "How is the war going?", I don't think there would have been many optimists. We still won, Rob Brower reminded the international community.

The Armed Forces left Avdiivka. What is important to know

On the morning of February 17, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky announced that a decision had been made to withdraw Ukrainian defenders from Avdiyivka.

He drew attention to the fact that our soldiers did everything possible to destroy the forces and resources of the Russian army on this part of the front.

During the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops, some of the fighters were captured.

The 3rd OShBr officially confirmed that since the redeployment of the brigade to Avdiivka, the enemy suffered considerable losses - in particular, more than 1,500 killed and more than 3,500 - wounded.
