The NATO leadership does not hide its concern that the army of the Russian Federation, despite the war of aggression against Ukraine, is actively engaged in restoring its combat capabilities, which poses a threat to the Baltic region.

The Baltic countries are again at risk

The commander of NATO's multinational North-Eastern Corps, Lieutenant General Jürgen-Joachim von Zandrart, issued such a warning.

According to his data, the aggressor country is restoring its combat capabilities.

The Alliance general also drew attention to the fact that this threatened the Baltic region.

Currently, Russia is largely committed to its illegal war against Ukraine, but it has already begun and will continue to rebuild its capabilities separately from the war in Ukraine, and this creates an increased threat to the Baltic Sea region, Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart emphasizes.

According to him, the head of Lithuanian diplomacy, Gabrielus Landsbergis, who previously warned that dictator Putin's team would mobilize its resources against the Alliance, is correct.

The Alliance should start preparing for possible aggression from Russia

The NATO general also called on the members of the bloc to be extremely careful with the conclusions that can be drawn.

I think that the conclusions that have been translated into actions regarding the procurement and strengthening of the capabilities of the Lithuanian armed forces are very wise and lead in the right direction, Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart stressed.

In his opinion, believing that one can protect oneself from the Russian Federation only by purchasing drones and air defense equipment is hazardous and incorrect.

Combined land, sea, air, cyber and soft forces and means... will still define the battlefield, Jürgen-Joachim von Sandrart voiced his opinion on this matter.
