New Zealand announced a new aid package for Ukraine. Its cost will be 25.9 million dollars.
What is known about the aid package from New Zealand
In her turn, New Zealand's Defence Minister Judith Collins noted that over the past two years, military countries have been in Europe and Great Britain, working with like-minded partners from partner countries to support Ukraine, and this support will continue.
Up to 97 NZDF personnel will continue to train Ukrainian soldiers and provide intelligence, communications and logistical support.
In addition, today's package of events also includes:
$6.5 million to the International Fund of Ukraine, administered by Great Britain, for the purchase of weapons and ammunition for Ukraine;
$7 million in humanitarian aid to support Ukrainians affected by the war, including those displaced to neighbouring countries;
$3 million to the World Bank's Trust Fund for assistance, recovery, reconstruction and reforms in Ukraine.
New Zealand's position to Russia
In 2022, New Zealand decided to join the training of the Ukrainian military in Britain.
Last February, the New Zealand government extended the visas offered to Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion.
