More than 10 people were killed following Russia's massive shelling on December 29. Dozens of victims are in hospitals with injuries of various severity, the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

How many victims identified following the Russian attack

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 12 people were killed in a mass attack in Ukraine.

Data on victims by region:

  • Kyiv: 1 victim, 18 injured;

  • Lviv: 1 person was killed, 9 injured;

  • Dnipropetrovsk region: 5 people were killed, 15 people were injured;

  • Odesa: 3 victims, 15 injured;

  • Kharkiv region: 1 person was killed, 8 wounded;

  • Zaporizhzhia region: 1 person was killed, 10 were injured.

Later, the mayor of Kyiv clarified that 28 people were injured as a result of the rocket attack on Kyiv on 29 December. Another civilian was killed.

According to the Kyiv mayor, Vitali Klitschko, 25 victims were hospitalised and three more received medical assistance on the spot.

In addition, four people were rescued from the rubble of a warehouse in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

In total, more than 70 people were injured as a result of the rocket and drone attacks on Ukraine.

Missile attack on Ukraine: what is known

According to preliminary data, last night Russian troops used 158 air attack weapons against Ukraine: missiles of various types and anti-aircraft missile systems.

The Air Force, in cooperation with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroyed the following items:

  • 27 attack UAVs "Shahed-136/131"

  • 87 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi said that the occupiers attacked with Shaheds, first from the north and southeast, then moving west.

A total of 36 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs were spotted.

Around 3:00 a.m., the Russian occupiers took into the air strategic aviation, Tu-95MS bombers, in the amount of 18 units.

The explosions took place in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro and Sumy region. Dozens of dead and wounded civilians were reported.
