The number of casualties in Kharkiv as a result of Russia's missile attack on 2 January has increased. It is now known that 63 people were injured.

On 2 January, the number of wounded increased to 63 people as a result of hostile missile fire in the Shevchenkivsk district of Kharkiv.

According to the prosecutor's office, a 23-year-old woman had to seek medical aid after receiving an acute brain concussion.

Updated. As of 12:34 pm. An 84-year-old woman who was injured in the missile attack on 2 January has died in a Kharkiv hospital, prosecutors said. Thus, the death toll in the city has risen to two. The number of wounded and injured is 62.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office noted that there were five children among the victims.

Russia's missile attack on Ukraine on January 2: what is known

The Russian army attacked Ukraine with 99 missiles. The Ukrainian air defence forces destroyed 72 aerial targets.

In particular, it was possible to shoot down 10 out of 10 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, 59 out of 70 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles and 3 out of 3 Kalibr cruise missiles.

In addition, the Russians directed 35 Shahed drones at the civilian population — all of the enemy targets were eliminated.

Kyiv, the Kyiv region and the city of Kharkiv were hit by the enemy.

Kharkiv was attacked by Iskander mobile short-range ballistic missile systems. About 25 objects of civil infrastructure and multi-storey buildings were destroyed. Three missiles hits were recorded in the Shevchenkiv district of Kharkiv.

According to the rescuers, work on the dismantling of the emergency structures of the residential building does not stop in Kharkiv.
