The Pentagon names the critical topic of the upcoming Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine meeting, which will be held on January 23.

What will the new "Ramstein" meeting be about

According to Sabrina Singh, spokeswoman for the US Department of Defense, the meeting will focus on Ukraine's long-term needs.

It will take a time when the US is short of money and unable to send the ammunition and missiles Ukraine needs to fight Russia, as the aid package is still pending in Congress.

The spokeswoman for the Pentagon added that the US would hope for help from other allies in Ukraine.

While we are unable to provide security assistance right now, our partners continue to do so, Singh said.

Estonia proposes a mechanism for aid increasing to Ukraine within the "Ramstein" framework

Among other things, Kallas proposed to more than 50 countries whose representatives are part of the contact group on military aid to Ukraine in the "Ramstein" format to send the equivalent of 0.25% of their annual GDP to help Kyiv.

According to her, this would make it possible to attract at least 120 billion dollars to help Ukraine.

If we do everything right, then there is no sense in these gloomy forecasts, — said the prime minister of Estonia.

She emphasised that Estonia's proposed plan is ambitious, for NATO already does not meet defence spending targets.

In addition, she called this plan a stable source of funding for aid to Ukraine.

Estonia prepared a military strategy plan for Western countries to help Ukraine win the war. The plan is designed for three years.

The document is intended for all member countries of the Rammstein working group, and it is a kind of appeal that demonstrates that if Western countries' effortsare consolidated, the contribution to the victory of Ukraminimaly is small.
