The US Secretary of Defence considers the withdrawal of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers from Avdiyivka "strategic": the Ukrainian army did it to preserve its artillery and shells, which are in critical shortage against the background of problems with providing aid from the US.

Pentagon Deputy Spokesperson Sabrina Singh made a statement on this matter.

She officially warned that if the US Ministry of Defense does not receive funding from the House of Representatives, it will be unable to provide the Armed Forces with all essential weapons.

According to Singh, in such a case, Ukrainian soldiers will be forced to choose and make decisions about which cities they can keep with the weapons of their partners.

I cannot predict these will be the decisions of Ukrainians they can discuss. There is a critical battle for their lives and country, so we need funding immediately. It has been an alarm since October.

The representative of the Pentagon notes that, at the moment, official Washington has no current concerns about the situation on the Ukrainian front, even though the populated areas remain under the attack of the Russian Federation.

I will forward this question to the Ukrainians, but I am not sure that they will tell you their military plans. But they fight every day to hold on to every inch of territory. I can't talk about a specific city, said Sabrina Singh.

The Pentagon promises prompt delivery of weapons to Ukraine

The US Secretary of Defence emphasises that they have the ability to ensure the provision of new aid packages to Ukraine in a short period of time immediately after the US Congress passes the relevant draft law.

As soon as the Congress provides us with these powers (regarding aid funding — ed.), I think that we will be able to deliver PDAs (packages allocated by order of the US President — ed.) to the Ukrainians quickly enough, — said the Pentagon representative.
