Russia and China want to push the US into a new conflict
This official warning was issued by Deputy Pentagon Chief of Staff Kathleen Hicks.
She said that both dictatorships have begun deploying weapons that can be used against GPS and other vital space systems.
In this way, official Moscow and Beijing have decided to weaken the military space advantage of the United States and its allies.
I want to be clear: conflict is not inevitable in space or anywhere else. And the United States is committed to preventing conflict through deterrence, making it clear to our competitors that the costs of aggression will far outweigh any conceivable benefits," the US Department of Defence spokesperson explained.
According to her, the US Space Command plays a critical role in the development, innovation, promotion and practical support of the safety, stability, security and sustainability of the space industry.
In addition, Hicks added that the Pentagon has already launched a constellation of smaller, more resilient and cheaper satellites than ever before — and the number is growing.
China offers peaceful coexistence to the US
