After the airspace violation, Poland's air defence forces were put on high alert.
Poland has increased the combat readiness of air defence and several fighter jets
According to Jacek Goryszewski, the spokesperson for the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, the combat readiness of air defence assets and fighter pairs has been increased to ensure the safety of Polish airspace.
The command spokesperson noted that the search for the object continues. Work is also underway to establish the causes of the airspace violation and determine the trajectory of the object.
What preceded it
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported in the morning that an unidentified object had violated the airspace during Russia's terrorist attack against Ukraine.
After that, an emergency meeting was convened in Poland regarding the violation of airspace by a missile that flew across the Ukrainian border and landed near the village of Wozuczyn-Cukrownia.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat, the violation of airspace is a signal to allies that Ukraine's air defence needs to be strengthened.
In Poland, it was speculated that Russian troops could deliberately conduct operations or shelling near the Ukrainian-Polish border, as there are no troop groups deployed there.
