The Kyiv police are investigating the fire at the Cosmopolitan shopping centre. Surveillance cameras showed that the arson was committed by a seven-year-old boy who was a guest of the mall.

The January 13 fire in Kyiv's Cosmopolit mall, which injured three people, was caused by deliberate arson committed by a 7-year-old boy.
The Kyiv Police reported this on its Facebook page.
The police said the information about the fire in the game room of the shopping and entertainment complex of the Solomyanskyi capital district came to the police on the evening of January 13. Police teams, emergency services and medics worked on the spot. The visitors of the shopping center were evacuated in time, the citizens did not receive any serious injuries or damage.
The parents and the child are invited to the Solomyansk police department to give evidence. According to the specified fact, the investigators are conducting the criminal proceedings initiated under Chapter 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional destruction or property damage.

This was announced by Kyiv's mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, on his Telegram channel.
According to him, about 200 people were evacuated from the building.
The mayor noted that medics helped them on the spot. The victims refused hospitalization.
The State Emergency Service announced that the fire was extinguished entirely in 50 square meters.
