Polish farmers block six out of nine checkpoints at Ukraine's border

Currently, Ukrainian border guards do not have information about the complete blockade of the border with Ukraine by Polish protesters. Currently, six out of nine checkpoints remain blocked.

A complete blockade at Ukraine's border was announced on February 20

We did not receive any information from the Polish border guards that other directions would be blocked. But it should be taken into account that there are 9 directions on the border with Poland, 6 of which are currently blocked or where movement is significantly complicated for cargo vehicles. Despite the fact that among these six — 4 are the largest checkpoints through which trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons can cross the border.

In addition, according to Demchenko, the three areas that remain have their own characteristics.

Somewhere, empty cargo vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tons can cross the border, and other directions are for the movement of smaller trucks in both directions, the speaker stated.

The situation at the border in the morning

Six directions remain blocked: "Yagodyn", "Ustilug", "Ugryniv", "Rava-Ruska", "Shegyni" and "Krakivets". As of this morning, a total of about 2,900 cargo vehicles are in queues in all these directions, waiting for the opportunity to cross the border to Ukraine.

The biggest one is opposite the checkpoints "Yagodyn" and "Krakivets". In addition, I would like to remind you that in the direction of the checkpoint "Yagodyn" yesterday and also for part of the day on Saturday, trucks were not allowed to pass in both directions. And tonight, the Polish side announced that the passage will still be carried out. It depends on the actions taken by the protesters. And in fact, within an hour, several cargo vehicles will be allowed in the direction of Ukraine. On the other hand, we still have no confirmation that any movement will take place in the direction of Poland, says Demchenko.

He also noted that insignificant movement, in fact a significant decrease in the possibility of crossing the border by trucks, is also recorded in the direction of the Shegyni checkpoint.

More or less intense traffic is recorded in the direction of the checkpoint "Krakivets". And actually, blocking actions in general significantly limited the possibility of crossing the border by freight vehicles.
