The European Commission, in particular, will provide Poland with €1.4 billion for investments in the agricultural sector. This time, total assets in the Polish economy from the European Union will amount to €137 billion.

The European Commission has decided to allocate €1.4 billion to Polish farmers

The European Union has adopted legal acts allowing additional funding to be transferred to Poland.

The European Commission reports this.

Today, the European Commission adopted two legal acts that will give Poland access to EU funding in the amount of up to €137 billion euros, the message says.

It is noted that these actions are related to the rule of law reforms that Poland has adopted, as well as recent and immediate steps that it has taken to solve the main task of strengthening the judicial system's independence.

The European Commission clarified that Poland's payment request also covers essential steps in implementing 25 ambitious reforms and five critical investments.

These measures are aimed at increasing the stability and competitiveness of the country's economy, promoting green energy and the transition to digital technologies, as well as supporting health care and environmentally friendly mobility, the EC said.

The European Commission will also provide Poland with €1.4 billion for investments in the agricultural sector.

This will involve supporting thousands of farmers and fishermen and the sector itself to help expand and modernize its production and access new markets.

Polish farmers' strike: blockade of the Ukrainian border

In February 2024, protests on the Polish-Ukrainian border resumed. Farmers block Border checkpoints, and recently, they started dumping Ukrainian grain.

In addition, Polish farmers also announced that they would block the border with Germany.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, announced that negotiations are allegedly underway to close the border to exchange goods temporarily.

I am ready to make tough decisions when it comes to the border with Ukraine, always consulting with Kyiv to avoid unnecessary tension. But we have to find a long-term solution, Tusk said.

Instead, Ukraine's officials say they are not conducting such negotiations.
