Ukraine's rail operator "Ukrazaliznytsia" noted that on February 18, participants of protests on the Polish-Ukrainian border blocked the movement of a passenger train from Ukraine.

What is known about the blocking of a train from Ukraine by Polish protesters

On February 18, Polish protesters blocked the movement of passenger train #119 Kyiv — Chelm. There were 260 passengers in the train, the absolute majority were women and children. Many passengers had further transfers and flights, the department emphasises.

It is noted that because Polish law enforcement officers intervened in the situation, the train's movement was unblocked.

How did you manage to unblock the movement

After the intervention of the Polish police and railway workers, the train was unblocked and continued to move. We thank our Polish colleagues for their cooperation and quick resolution of the issue.

Ukrzaliznytsia closely monitors the situation on the border with Poland and interacts with border guards, the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland, the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ukrzaliznytsia emphasises the inadmissibility of blocking railway traffic. We consider such actions of protesters to be outrageous, taking into account the history of partnership and economic relations between our countries, — the department notes.

It is emphasised that such actions hurt ensuring the defence capability of Ukraine and the security of the EU borders against the Russian aggressor

"Ukrzaliznytsia" added that the railway connection with Poland is carried out as usual. Passenger and freight trains are currently running without problems.
