Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who has been waging a full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine for the second year in a row, has been nominated for the title of "2023 Person of the Year" by Time magazine.
Putin can become Time's "Person of the Year".
The publication's editors have not yet explained how the head of the Kremlin became one of the contenders for this title.
As it turned out, in general, the list consists of 9 nominees, namely:
singer Taylor Swift;
the King of Great Britain Charles III;
Barbie - after the success of the film of the same name directed by Greta Gerwig;
participants in the strike in Hollywood;
CEO of OpenAI Sam Altman;
former US President Donald Trump's prosecutor;
The Federal Reserve System (FED) chief Jerome Powell;
President of China Xi Jinping;
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Who was previously chosen by Time as "Person of the Year"
As mentioned in 2022, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the "spirit of Ukraine" were selected as "Person of the Year".
At the same time, US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Martin Luther King Jr., German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Pope Francis, and eco-activist Greta Thunberg competed for victory.
In 2021, the scandalous billionaire and businessman Elon Musk became the "Person of the Year".
It is worth reminding that the Russian dictator already won Time's "Person of the Year" nomination in 2007.
