On January 3, emergency and rescue operations in the Shevchenkivskyi district, which continued after a massive Russian missile attack on December 29, were completed in Kyiv.

The State Emergency Service reports that 30 people died in Kyiv, of which one person died in hospital.

4700 m3 were removed and carried out of the destroyed building structures during the works.

In total, as a result of the attack on December 29, 53 people died in Ukraine, 170 people were injured, and 18 settlements in 10 regions were affected.

700 rescuers and 145 pieces of equipment worked on the ground.

Missile attack on December 29: what is known

On the morning of December 29, the Russian Federation launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. Russians attacked Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Konotop, and Zaporizhzhia.

The maternity hospital, schools, shopping centre, metro station, warehouses, multi-storey buildings and private houses were damaged.

Russia used 122 missiles and 36 attack drones. Air defense forces destroyed 87 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles and 27 drones.

More than 30 enemy targets were shot down over Kyiv. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in a high-rise building and a warehouse.
