Hackers from the Blackjack group, probably related to the Security Service of Ukraine, hacked the Moscow Internet provider "M9kom" and destroyed its servers.

Ukrainian hackers left part of Moscow without Internet and TV

As reported in the Blackjack group, it is about 20 terabytes of deleted data: the company's official site, branch sites, mail server, cyber protection services, etc. As a result of a successful cyber attack, some of the residents of Moscow were left without the Internet and television.

Hackers also downloaded over 10 GB of data from the company's mail server and client databases, made available to anyone.

Hackers said that "M9com" is one of the "warm-ups" before a more severe revenge for "Kyivstar".

Hacker attack on "Kyivstar"

On the morning of December 12, 2023, Kyivstar subscribers complained about a communication failure, and later, the company announced a powerful hacker attack.

The Minister of Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov, expressed the hope that "Kyivstar" will be restored in a few hours.

The company assured that subscribers' data were not compromised.

On December 13, the Solntsepek hacker group from Russia claimed responsibility for the attack on Kyivstar's IT infrastructure. Cybercriminals explained their motives because the company communicates with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The "Kyivstar" network became operational on December 13, and two days later, access to the mobile Internet was restored throughout the territory controlled by Ukraine. On the same day, the company assured that subscriber information and personal data were safe despite the disruption in work after the hacker attack on December 12.

On December 21, Kyivstar announced that they had fully restored all basic services affected by the hacker attack. The company made compensation to subscribers — it cancelled the following scheduled fee for the tariff for its users.

In addition, the telecommunications company filed a lawsuit in connection with the hacker attack.
