Kremlin propagandists invented a new fake about the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny. Allegedly, after the information about his resignation, the general is preparing a "coup" with the participation of the military.

What a fake the Kremlin is spreading about Zaluzhny

Russian propagandists spread fake information that General Zaluzhnyi, after the news of his resignation, called on the Defense Forces to make a demarche on Kyiv and seize power.

In fact, as the Center emphasizes, the video fake was generated by propaganda with the help of artificial intelligence, and it is based on the address of General Valery Zaluzhnyi on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day on December 6, 2023.

In the original video, the color scheme was changed and the background was blurred. The fakers also filled the video series with a typical set of Kremlin narratives, such as: "complete failure at the front", "total corruption in Ukraine", "terrorist acts by Zelensky", "soldiers are being sent to slaughter", - the Center notes.

This is not the first Russian fake about General Valery Zaluzhny.

Earlier, in the spring of 2023, the Kremlin media wrote that a Ukrainian general was allegedly seriously injured as a result of a missile strike by Russian troops on a command post in the Kherson region. Later, Zaluzhnyi himself debunked the fake about his "severe injury". And in June they generally "buried" the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.

What will happen to Zaluzhny after his probable resignation

One of the publication's insiders claims that Zelensky intends to give Zaluzhny a new position.

The President of Ukraine understands that he may face criticism and disapproval of Ukrainians due to the dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, so he is looking for different options for the development of events.

What is important to understand is that Zaluzhny has already been offered the position of ambassador, but he cannot resign from the ranks of the Armed Forces while Ukraine is under martial law.

According to journalists, the tension in the relationship between Zelenskyi and Zaluzhny appeared due to different views on mobilization.

According to the publication's anonymous sources, Valery Zaluzhny can be replaced by one of the young officers who have proven their effectiveness on the battlefield.

Despite this, Volodymyr Zelenskyi's team is aware that they may lack management experience.

On the other hand, choosing an experienced Commander-in-Chief can bring an "old school mentality" to the position. Among the candidates are mentioned in particular the head of the GUR Kyryl Budanov and the commander of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.
