In the Russian Federation, on the night of Mar. 7, forces and means of air defence were working in three regions due to an alleged attack by drones.

What is known about the Russian drone attack

According to the Russians, drones attacked the Kursk, Bryansk and Tula regions.

The Russian ministry traditionally blames Ukraine for the "raid" of drones and reports on the "ceasing of an attempt" to attack unnamed aircraft-type UAVs on the territory of the country.

Also, the Russian side declares the alleged interception and downing of 5 drones, namely:

  • one drone was intercepted over the Kursk region,

  • three UAVs were destroyed over the Bryansk region

  • two drones were shot down over the Tula region.

The Russian MOD did not say anything about the consequences of such a drone attack and the work of air defence.

Drones are increasingly attacking Russia

On the night of Mar. 7, the governor of the Bryansk region of Russia, Oleksandr Bogomaz, announced that two drones were allegedly destroyed by air defence systems over the Klintsy district and the Novozybkov city district.

Before that, Russia reported the "destruction of a drone" near the port of Bronka near St. Petersburg over the Gulf of Finland.

On the night of Feb. 24 in the Kursk and Tula regions of the Russian Federation, air defense forces and means were working due to an alleged drone attack. It was reported that two UAVs were shot down.

Also, a series of explosions rang out in the Russian city of Lipetsk, after which a fire broke out on the territory of the local metallurgical plant. Drones attacked the enterprise.

On the night of Feb. 25, the Russians announced a drone attack over the Belgorod region and the Black Sea.
