What is known about the attack of drones on the Russian territory?
According to the Russian mass media, several drones attacked the plant on March 13. Eyewitnesses heard several explosions and saw a column of thick smoke above the enterprise.
The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, officially confirmed the drone attack. According to him, there are victims.
In addition, the drone attacked the Federal Security Service (FSB) building in Belgorod. The UAV crashed into the building, but it allegedly sustained minimal damage.
At the same time, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, remained silent about the attack on the FSB building. Instead, he stated that two drones allegedly attacked Belgorod. One minimally damaged a residential building, and the other fell into the river, according to Gladkov.
Subsequently, the Russian MOD announced that the Russian air defence system shot down or intercepted 58 drones over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Leningrad and Ryazan regions.
Another seven drones were allegedly shot down over the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, said the Russian MOD statement. Three drones were shot down in the Rostov region. There are explosions in Pskov, but this is a training exercise, the head of the region said.
Drone attack in Russia on March 12
On the night of March 12, seven Russian regions: Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh, Oryol, Moskovskaya, Tula and Nizhny Novgorod regions — reported a drone attack.
In the Kstovo region of the Nizhny Novgorod region, a drone hit the Lukoil oil depot, causing a fire. The company reported that the work of the technological plant for oil processing was stopped due to the incident.
The attacked oil refinery near Nizhny Novgorod, 800 km from Ukraine, produced 15 million tons annually.
In Oryol, as a result of the attack, a fire started at an oil depot, and oil products leaked.
