Russia claims to have shot down drones in occupied Crimea

Russia's Ministry of Defence (MDR) claims that two drones were allegedly shot down in the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to an official statement, enemy air defence forces repelled the drone attack that night.

The aggressor's ministry traditionally blames Ukraine for this UAV raid. It is known that the drones were of the aviation type.

According to the statement, "two Ukrainian drones" were destroyed by air defence systems over the territory of Crimea at night.

It was not specified where the air defence forces were operating to combat the drones and what the consequences of the incident were. Earlier, late on Wednesday evening and on Thursday night, Crimean media and social media reported a series of explosions, first in Sevastopol and then in Krasnoperekopsk.

Explosions in Crimea this night

Around half past one in the morning, explosions were heard in the occupied Sevastopol in the area of the bay. According to the local Telegram social media users, four or five explosions were heard in the area.

In his turn, local gauleiter Mykhailo Razvozhayev spoke about the operation of air defence systems and the alleged downing of a drone over the Black Sea.

And around one in the morning, the Crimean press reported four explosions in the Krasnoperekopsk district, not far from the town of Dzhankoi in the northern Crimea. Representatives of the occupation "administration" did not explain the reason for this nighttime "cotton" (explosions).
