Russia has lost almost all T-80U tanks — A military expert

Tank

Practically all tanks of the T-80U modification were destroyed or damaged or are serving in the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

A military observer suggested that Russia had lost almost all of its T-80U tanks

Oleksandr Kovalenko noted that almost all tanks of the T-80U modification no longer perform tasks for the benefit of Russia. Mostly, the invaders suffered losses in these tanks in battles in the Kharkiv region.

In a post, Kovalenko published a photo of the T-80U tank, which has become very rare in Russian service over the past year and a half. He suggested that the Defense Forces of Ukraine now have even more T-80U tanks than the Russian occupation forces.

Is the prey nervously waiting for its time?, the publication says.

T-80U characteristics

The T-80U tank is the main tank in the T-80 family. It was adopted in 1985. It weighs 46 tons and has a crew of three people.

The main striking force is a smoothbore 125-mm gun. Its rate of fire is 8 shots per minute. Other weapons include a 9M119 laser-guided missile and two sub-machine guns: one 12.7-mm and another 7.62-mm.

The tank has built-in dynamic protection. The engine develops a power of 1250 hp.
