On the night of January 8, the Russian army launched a massive attack on the peaceful cities of Ukraine, using cruise, aviation, ballistic, anti-aircraft guided missiles and kamikaze drones.

According to the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a total of 59 means of air attack by the enemy were recorded:

  • Eight kamikaze drones of the "Shahed-136/131" type from the Russian Primorsko-Akhtarsk region;

  • 7 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the Belgorod Region in Russia;

  • 4 Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missiles from four MiG-31K aircraft (launch areas are Ryazan and Tambov);

  • 24 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles from 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area is Engels in Russia.)

  • 8 Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 bombers from the Belgorod region;

  • 6 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles from the Dzhankoy and Chauda districts in occupied Crimea;

  • 2 Kh-31P guided air missiles from tactical aircraft (launch area is Belgorod region).

The defenders of the sky successfully destroyed 8 "Shahed-136/131" kamikaze drones and 18 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles.

Not all enemy missiles that failed to shoot down reached their targets.

According to Air Force representatives, on January 8, the enemy hit critical infrastructure, industrial, civilian and military facilities.

The Russian army attacked various regions of Ukraine. In particular, missiles flying along a ballistic trajectory were aimed at the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi regions.

New Russian attack killed people in several regions of Ukraine

In Zaporizhzhia, Russian rockets hit residential areas, following to houses. According to operational data, three people were injured. It is known about one victim.

Dnipropetrovsk region: in Novomoskovsk, an explosive wave overturned a minibus, eight passengers got out of the cabin on their own. In total, 20 people, including four children, asked for aid from doctors. Damaged residential buildings.

One woman died in Kryvyi Rih, and three more people may be under the rubble. The enemy was hitting a shopping mall and private houses.

Another woman died in the Kharkiv region. Two people were rescued from the rubble.

Khmelnytskyi region: several explosions were heard in the region. Rescue workers and police officers are working at the scene of the attacks. It is known about two victims.
