Russia launched 63 "Kinzhals" since the beginning of the war — AFU Air Force

Missile

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has fired 63 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missiles over Ukraine. Ukraine shot down 25 such missiles.

How many Kinzhals has Russia launched since the war's-beginning, and how many were shot down

According to the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, since May 4, 2023, Ukraine has shot down 25 "Kinzhal" missiles. Russia has launched a total of 63 such missiles since the start of the full-scale invasion.

It was then that we received the Patriot from the spring of last year and were able to destroy aeroballistic missiles, the spokesman said.

Ignat also commented on the video that was shot during the massive missile attack on Kyiv. In the footage, one of the enemy's rockets fell into the Dnipro. He noted that it has not yet been confirmed that it was "Kinzhal".

Anything could fall. Therefore, you will be able to tell what type it is when you see it, he added.

It is worth noting that the MiG-31K is a carrier of the "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile. This missile is complex to shoot down due to its trajectory. Until spring 2023, the Ukrainian military did not shoot down the "Kinzhals". However, in May, Air defence forces destroyed the Russian "Kinzhal" for the first time with the help of the Patriot system, which was provided to Ukraine by partners.

Large-scale shelling of Ukraine on January 2

On January 2, the Russian occupiers repeated the large-scale shelling, as on December 29. Kyiv and Kharkiv were under attack. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, reported that the air defence forces shot down 72 cruise missiles, including all 10 "Kinzhals".

In Kharkiv, three missile hits were recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi district. A multi-storey building in the Solomiankyi district in Kyiv was significantly damaged.
