The spokesman of the AFU General Staff, senior lieutenant Andriy Kovalyov, says the losses of the Russian army in the war against Ukraine amount to 412,400 people killed and wounded as of February 27, 2024.

AFU General Staff explains the calculations of Russian occupiers' losses

Andriy Kovalyov notes that the AFU General Staff publishes the enemy's total combat losses daily.

However, what is essential to understand is the total losses.

The total losses of the Russian occupiers, published by the AFU General Staff, consist of two main indicators of losses received by the enemy in the course of hostilities. Namely, it is irrecoverable and combat sanitary enemy losses. As of February 27, 2024, the total losses of the Russian occupiers are approximately 412,400 people, — explained Andriy Kovalyov.

As mentioned earlier, during a major press conference on Feb. 25, 2024, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, officially confirmed that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers died during the full-scale invasion of Russia, and 180,000 were killed on the Russian side.

Thirty-one thousand Ukrainian soldiers died in this war. Not 300,000, not 150,000, which is what Putin and his circle of liars are lying about. But each of these losses is a significant loss for us. 180,000 Russians died. I don't know how many of them are missing, but I know that up to 500,000 are among the wounded."
