The authorities of the Russian Federation are ready to hand over to Kyiv the bodies of prisoners of war who, according to Russia, died during the crash of the Il-76 in the Belgorod region on January 24.

The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation, Tatiana Moskalkova, made an official statement.
According to Putin's henchman, she is currently in contact with representatives of Ukraine in the case of the plane crash. She says, "The Ukrainian side was interested in the possibility of handing over the bodies."
Tatyana Moskalkova also added that she is discussing this issue with the representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, to whom she allegedly "gave all the answers to the questions about the incident."

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) official representative, Andrii Yusov, Kyiv has appealed to the aggressor country many times regarding the transfer of the bodies of Ukrainian POWs who allegedly died on board the IL-76.

On January 24, an Il-76 military transport plane crashed in the Korochan district of the Belgorod region in Russia.
The Russian MOD stated that there were allegedly 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war on board who were being taken for exchange. The DIU confirmed that an exchange was being prepared that day.
The DIU chief, Kyrylo Budanov, said there is no reliable and comprehensive information about who could be on board.
The NSDC secretary, Oleksiy Danilov, recently stated that there were no Ukrainian POWs on board of crashed Il-76.
