Poisoning of Budanov's wife: what is known

In Nov. 2023, it was reported that Marianna Budanova, the wife of the DIU chief, was poisoned with heavy metals.

After the poisoning, additional security measures were introduced at the DIU.

The DIU speaker, Andriy Yusov, reported that the treatment and investigation will be extended.

Later, an intelligence source reported that the wife of the DIU chief, Kirill Budanov, could have been poisoned with heavy metals, namely arsenic and mercury.

Subsequently, the DIU chief, Lt Gen Kyrylo Budanov, said that he knew who poisoned his wife Marianna and hinted at the answer.

My wife is feeling better. As I did not use any poison, it is difficult for me to say whether it was an attempt on my life. But I have already survived many attempts and will probably survive many more. I think that in the near future you will see appropriate actions on Russian territory, and everyone will understand this.
