According to the investigation, on December 24, around 02:50, Russian service members fired at the Pidserednie village in the Kupiansk district. Civilians were injured. They were admitted to the hospital.

Residential buildings and people's cars were also damaged in the village. Previously, the occupiers shelled the settlement with "Smerch" MLRS and artillery.

In addition, around 4:30, the enemy launched an artillery bombardment of the town of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. Private homes were damaged there.

The day before, around 4:00 p.m., the occupiers attacked Kupiansk with an anti-aircraft missile system. As a result of the hit, a private house was occupied.

Prosecutors have already started pre-trial investigations into violations of the laws and customs of war (Chapter 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Shelling of Kupiansk district

The Russian troops did not relinquish their intention to re-occupy Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region.

The head of the Ukrainian Ground Forces Command public relations service, Volodymyr Fityo, said earlier that active combat operations are currently underway in the direction of the Synkivka settlement.

In addition, the enemy is shelling the civilian population of Kupiansk district almost every day.

As a result, forced evacuation of families with children was announced in some district communities.
