The criminal army of the Russian Federation continues its artillery shelling of Mariinka in the Donetsk region against the background of its false statements about the alleged complete capture of the settlement.
What is known about the situation in the Mariinka area
According to OSTG "Tavria" speaker Oleksandr Shtupun, the Russian invaders continued to shell Mariinka while the Ukrainian military retreated to the northern part of the city.
The OSTG spokesman added that the enemy shelling continues, but no fighting has been recorded in the city area.
Shtupun noted that the enemy was also shelling the Georgiivka village near Mariinka.
What Zaluzhnyi says about the situation with Mariinka
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, noted that Russian war criminals completely destroyed the city as a result of constant shelling and attacks.
Currently, the Ukrainian military has retreated to the northern outskirts of Mariinka.
Zaluzhnyi noted that the Ukrainian military had prepared defensive lines outside the city.

Zaluzhnyi advised not to create unnecessary drama due to the loss of individual settlements by the Ukrainian military, which would later be brought back under control.

Zaluzhnyi is convinced that it is necessary to inflict such losses on the Russian occupiers that they cannot continue armed aggression against Ukraine.
I have already said that it was one of my biggest mistakes, that I thought that such a number of losses that we inflicted on the enemy even a year ago could be stopped. Such a number of losses would probably stop any country, but I understand that this is not the Russian Federation, Zaluzhnyi explains.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that it is visible what is happening on the front line: mountains of Russian bodies that no one is even trying to take away.
More and more of them appear there every day, and unfortunately, this is the attitude of the Russian Federation towards its own people. Today, it is difficult to predict how many more losses need to be inflicted in order for this to stop. I believe that it is necessary to do this continuously until the war ends, until the enemy refuses to conduct hostilities against our country, AFU Commander-in-Chief noted.
