The command of the Russian occupation army have not achieved the goals they set for themself during the winter offensive.

Russia's winter offensive will not succeed

Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Russia continues to advance on several fronts and has the resources to do so, but the Russian army's winter offensive is not successful.

I would rather say that the Russian army's offensive will fail," Syrskyi said.

According to Syrskyi, the Russian army command has repeatedly set deadlines for the capture of certain settlements, reaching certain borders, then postponed them, and "they really failed these tasks".

What preceded it

Earlier, Syrskyi said that preparations for a renewed enemy offensive were underway in the Siverskyi sector in eastern Ukraine. To do this, the enemy is deploying assault units and forming assault companies.

The commander also said that the operational situation in the east remains difficult. The enemy continues offensive actions in the Kupyansk, Lyman and Bakhmut directions.

The occupiers continue their attempts to push Ukrainian units out of Kupyansk forest and capture Synkivka, aiming to block Kupyansk.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, also confirmed that the occupation forces are preparing for another offensive in the area of Synkivka in the Kupiansk sector.
