The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, prematurely interrupted her visit to the Mykolaiv region due to a Russian drone chasing her motorcade.
Russian drone followed Baerbock
On February 25, Baerbock was supposed to visit the water treatment facilities built with the support of Germany in the Mykolaiv region.
However, she cut the visit short due to a Russian spy drone following her motorcade. It also flew over the territory of the water facilities.
Members of the delegation were asked to quickly return to the armored vehicles. It is reported that in this situation, the safest option was to stay in motion.
Some time after the departure of the motorcade, an air alert was indeed announced in the Mykolaiv region. After a quarter of an hour, it was canceled.
Visit of Annalena Baerbock to Ukraine
On February 25, Baerbock visited Mykolaiv, where she announced the allocation of 100 million euros of humanitarian aid by Germany.
On the evening of February 24, Baerbock had to go to a shelter in Odesa after an air raid alert was announced. According to the dpa correspondent, Baerbock remained in the shelter of her hotel together with members of her delegation and other guests.
