Russian missile strike leaves killed and dozens wounded in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro and Lviv

Russia has launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. There are reports of casualties in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv.

Consequences of Russia’s missile attack on December 29

Two people were killed and 18 others wounded in Kyiv. Rocket fragments fell in Podil, Sviatoshynskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Darnytskyi districts.

Lukyanivska underground station was damaged.

In Dnipro, the missile attack killed four people and injured nearly a dozen civilians.

In Dnipro, we had an incident at a shopping centre. A fire broke out. A private house, a six-storey building and a maternity hospital were destroyed, according to the regional military adminiatration (RMA).

In Odesa, Russians shelled residential buildings. Two people were killed and 15 were injured, including two children, aged 6 and 8.

All the injured are currently being treated in medical facilities in the city. Two of the wounded are in serious condition.

In Lviv, a shelling of a residential building killed one person and injured eight.

All of them are in moderate condition. The people were in their homes at the time of the missile attack. According to local authorities, most of them were injured by shrapnel that came through windows smashed by the blast wave.

A woman was killed in the missile attack in Zaporizhzhia. Another 10 people were injured.

One of the local business centers was damaged, a private house was destroyed as well as windows in 19 multi-storey buildings, two educational institutions and a medical facility were smashed.

In Kharkiv, the occupiers launched more than 20 attacks on the city, using S-300 missiles. One person was killed — a man of about 35 years old, 11 people were injured.

The destruction and damage to a warehouse, industrial buildings, a transport depot, and an enterprise office were recorded. The blast wave damaged the roof and windows of one of the medical institutions, the authorities said.

What missiles did the Russians use?

Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said that the Russians used all types of missiles except Kalibr.

The invaders used Kinzhal ballistic missiles, S-300, cruise missiles, Kh-22 or kh-32, UAVs. About 18 strategic bombers launched Kh-101/Kh-505... We have never seen so many targets simultaneously on our monitor.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, more than three dozen air targets were hit by the Ukrainian air defence forces over Kyiv.
