At 7 a.m. on January 8, the Russian Federation bombarded Zaporizhzhia with various types of missiles. Explosions rang out in the city as a result of the terrorist act of the Russian army. There are two injured at this moment.

Russian missile attack on Zaporizhzhia: what is known

On the morning of January 8, Russian troops shelled Zaporozhzhia. The attack was combined, using cruise and ballistic missiles from different directions.

This was announced by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration (RMA), Yuriy Malashko, on his Telegram channel.

At 07:00, Zaporizhzhia woke up to a missile attack by the Rushists. As a result of the combined attack of cruise and ballistic missiles from different directions, a total of five explosions were heard in the regional center.

Currently, it is known that rockets hit residential areas — in open areas and near houses.

As a result of the missile attack, as of 08:00, it is known about two injured — a man and a woman. The information is preliminary and may be supplemented.

Operational and rescue services are working at the sites of the strikes.

Keep calm and refrain from photographing and videotaping the consequences of the arrivals, as long as the emergency workers are working, Yuriy Malashko urged.

In Ukraine, the number of dead as a result of the Russian attack has increased

Anatolii Kurtiev, secretary of the Zaporizhia City Council, and Yuriy Malashko, head of the Zaporizhzhia RMA, reported that the number of victims had increased to nine people. On December 29, there were eight of them.

On December 30, the Mourning Day was announced in Zaporizhzhia.

According to the representatives of the command of the Air Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on December 29, the sound of an explosion was heard in Zaporizhzhia.

An air alert was announced for the entire Zaporizhzhia region at 10:30 a.m. due to the takeoff of the Russian MiG-31K, which is a potential carrier of the "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile.
