Kuzminov

Russian propaganda resources are actively spreading the publication of the Italian online publication Il Corrispondente, associated with the Italian citizen Amedeo Avondet. It is talking about a fake related to the murder in Spain of the Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who previously cooperated with the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) and landed his helicopter in Ukraine.

Avondet spreads fake propaganda about the murder of pilot Kuzminov

The Russians are trying to convince the world that Ukrainian special services killed Kuzmin.

The Center for Combating Disinformation (CCD) reported this on Facebook.

For this, Russian propagandists chose the publication of the Italian journalist Avondet Il Corrispondente.

Avondet is a politician and journalist from Turin who attends the Russian embassy in Italy and enjoys the support of Putin's United Russia party.

In December 2022, Avondet came to Moscow, where he met with deputies and heads of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and received official thanks from them.

In the summer of 2023, Avondet illegally visited the occupied territories of Ukraine, where he worked as a "special correspondent of the Russian assault brigade "Wolves", wearing a Russian military uniform with a Z-swastika.

In his publications, Avondet justifies the invasion of Ukraine and calls on the Italian government not to help Ukraine but to cooperate with the Kremlin.

What is known about the circumstances of Maxim Kuzminov's death

On February 19, it became known that the Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who in the summer of 2023 drove the Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian army into the territory of Ukraine, was found dead in Spain.

The DIU representative told journalists of the publication that Kuzminov was indeed found shot on the territory of Spain.

He decided to move to Spain instead of being here. From what we know: he invited his ex to his house and they found him shot, — stressed the DIU employee.

It is noted that a burnt-out car was found nearby, in which the liquidators were allegedly fleeing.

28-year-old Maxim Kuzminov was the commander of the Mi-8 helicopter. He served in the 319th separate helicopter regiment of the Russian Army Aviation — military unit 13984 with a permanent deployment point at the Chernigovka airfield in the Primorsky Krai.

The helicopter pilot Maksym Kuzminov cooperated with the DIU and during the flight between two Russian airbases changed course and landed in the Kharkiv region.

The pilot himself was wounded in the leg while flying over the border. He was promptly evacuated to Kyiv. Kuzminov's family was taken to Ukraine even before the start of the final stage of the operation.

The propeller of the Mi-8 remained intact, as did the cargo on board. He transported parts for Russian Su-27 and Su-30 SM fighters and secret documentation. Later, the helicopter was handed over to Ukrainian defenders.
