A promising complex of guided missile weapons will appear on the front line in Ukraine soon.

What is known about the Hermes hypersonic missile complex testing

On February 17, Russian sources reported that the Russian Armed Forces are conducting tests of the Hermes hypersonic missile complex during hostilities in Ukraine and at test sites in the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War in a summary dated February 17.

On February 7, the Russian mass media wrote that a promising complex of guided missile weapons may appear on the front line in Ukraine soon.

Analysts call this complex one of the vivid examples of "long-term development" in Russian weapons and express doubts as to whether the problem of providing the complex with target designation will be solved.

Tactical missile complex "Hermes"

"Hermes" is a hypersonic missile complex that can be controlled in ground or air mode. TRK can also be used as an anti-ship missile or coastal defense system.

The development and production of the "Hermes" system is carried out by the Tula Design Bureau of Instrumentation. The Russian military completed testing of the aviation variant in 2003. The complex was presented to the general public on February 22, 2009.

The full list of possible carriers of the complex is not yet known. Ka-52 and Su-39 helicopters are indicated on the manufacturer's website as an example.
