Russians attacked Kupyansk with artillery

A 73-year-old civilian man died today as a result of hostile shelling in Kupyansk, Syniehubov said.

According to him, another 79-year-old local resident sustained shrapnel wounds and was hospitalised.

Windows and fences in residential buildings were also smashed. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene to record another act of Russian terrorism.

The situation near Kupyansk

Kupiansk and part of the border areas of the Kharkiv region were seized by the Russians in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion. These territories were liberated during a counter-offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in autumn 2022.

Currently, the occupiers continue their attempts to capture Kupiansk to create a "buffer zone" around the Luhansk region. Our military are preventing the enemy from advancing further.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two local residents were killed in another criminal attack by the Russian army in the village of Podola near Kupyansk.

According to the agency, the attack took place at 16:40. As a result, a private house and cars were damaged.

It is also known that two civilian men aged 50 and 57 were killed.
