The Russians continue to increase the number of "deception silhouettes" imitating combat aircraft. The occupiers do this at almost all airfields that can be attacked by Ukrainian drones.

Decoy planes are being spotted more frequently at Russian airfields

Brady Africk, an analyst at the American Enterprise Institute's foreign and defence policy research department, released the new satellite images.

As Ukraine's long-range strike capabilities have grown, so has the number of decoys at Russian air bases involved in the invasion of Ukraine, Africk writes.

At the same time, the expert clearly showed several such "objects" that the Russian forces painted on air bases that "were once beyond the reach of Kyiv."

Decoys in the war of Russia against Ukraine

Ukraine also actively replaces its military equipment with decoys on the battlefield so that the Russian army wastes shells on destroying false targets.

So, in the summer of 2023, Ukraine's National Guard fighters decided to deceive the invaders and set up a fake position with a decoy anti-tank missile system, "Stugna". Russian pecked at the bait and went on an assault, where they suffered significant losses.

In addition, Russia is trying to hide its warships in the Black Sea with the help of a new deceptive camouflage scheme, which makes it difficult to estimate the length and shape of the ships and their identification on satellite images.
