Russians attacked Kirovohrad and Poltava regions with missiles

On the afternoon of February 16, an air alert was announced throughout Ukraine. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces warned about the threat of ballistic weapons.

At 14:56, an air alert was announced in the Kirovohrad region. In the Kropyvnytskyi district, after the explosions, there were no casualties or damage.

At the same time, Russian troops launched ballistic missiles in the Poltava region. According to local RMA, explosions were heard in the region, and there were no casualties or damage.

Russia's missile attack on February 15

On the night of February 15, Russian troops launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine with Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 air-based cruise missiles, Kalibr sea-based missiles, Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, anti-aircraft guided missiles S-300 missiles and Kh-59 guided air missiles.

Out of 26 missiles of various types, the air defense forces destroyed 13 missiles:

  • eight Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles;

  • one Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile;

  • two Kalibr cruise missiles;

  • two Kh-59 guided air missiles

North Korean KN-23 missiles were probably among the missiles that Russia attacked.

In Lviv, a missile hit an infrastructure object, damaging two schools, kindergartens and 18 residential buildings. Two people were injured.

In Zaporizhzhia, one person was injured and an infrastructure object was hit. Two wounded were reported in Khmelnytskyi.

All the missiles were shot down over Kyiv, there were no casualties or damage.
