What is known about the damage to the ship Novocherkassk
On the night of 26 December, at around 02:30, tactical aviation of the Ukrainian Air Force launched a cruise missile attack on the Novocherkassk large landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Feodosia region. Later, a large fire broke out in the port of Feodosia.
The Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk confirmed that the large landing ship Novocherkassk was destroyed.
Some military experts suggest that the ship was also carrying Shahed drones that the Russians planned to use to attack Ukraine, but there is no official confirmation of this information yet.
Novocherkassk (BDK-46) is a Ropukha-class amphibious assault ship, which was in service with the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy.
It was designed to land on an unequipped coastline and transport troops and cargo by sea.
