On the telethon air, Synegubov said that the Kupian direction remains one of the hottest on the front line.

The day before, a strike by aerial bomb with cluster charges was recorded for the first time in Kupiansk, he said.

Syniegubov added that shelling cities with cluster munitions increases the damage zone and poses an even more significant threat to civilians.

Residents of Kupyansk told what is known about the dead pastor and the destroyed church in the city centre.

The head of the RMA added that the regional defence council is discussing the forced evacuation of families with children. He also emphasised that the construction of fortifications is underway in the Kupyan direction.

Which cities are at risk in case of Russian breakthrough towards Kupiansk?

If the Russian occupation army succeeds in capturing Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region will be under serious threat.

The head of the Center for Military Legal Studies, Oleksandr Musienko, made such a statement.

There is an understanding of the importance of this flank. If it rains, and the Russians take Kupiansk, they will definitely move on to the connection with the Lyman direction. They will have serious opportunities to threaten Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, he emphasised.

In addition, according to Musienko, as a result of such a breakthrough, the threat to Kharkiv will increase.

I will not, like some, make statements that "they are about to go to Kharkiv." After all, the battles for Kupyansk have been going on for many months, and the city is holding on. But, theoretically, of course, such a risk exists, — noted the expert.

At the same time, Oleksandr Musienko emphasised that the chance of a Russian breakthrough in this direction is the same as everywhere else; it cannot be ruled out.

We have to assess the facts, and they are as follows: for so many months of fighting in the area of Synkivka and Tabaiivka — and these are the main directions of the attack — the Russian Federation has not made any noticeable advances there.
