The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that police lieutenant colonel Oksana Volodymyrivna Novyk received life-threatening injuries. Police Lieutenant Colonel Oleh Mykolayovych Yurko, deputy chief of police department No. 4 of the Sumy district police department, also received fatal injuries. He was the head of the investigative department.
