Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) warn that the occupation army of the Russian Federation may take advantage of the delay with the help of Ukraine from its Western partners to launch an offensive.

Analysts warn about the possibility of deterioration of the situation at the front

Analysts emphasise that critical areas of the front for Ukraine, on which the offensive of the Russian invaders may begin, threaten to create vulnerable places in other directions.

The criminal army of the Russian Federation can use this for a sudden and unexpected advance.

Analysts believe that, in this case, the command of the Russian occupation army can increase or decrease the intensity of offensive operations on any part of the front at will.

Ukrainian forces are likely trying to mitigate the problems caused by the lack of ammunition by prioritising the distribution of ammunition in areas of the front where larger Russian offensive operations are underway, experts suggest.

What analysts say about the situation at the front

According to ISW, on Mar. 13, positional battles continued toward Kupiansk - Svatove - Kreminna.

The positional battles were indicated to have taken place northeast of Kupyansk in the area of Synkivka, northwest of Svatove near Tabaivka and Stelmakhivka, west of Kreminna near Terny and Yampolivka, and south of Kreminna near Bilohorivka, 12 km south of Kreminna.

It is noted that fighting continued in the Bakhmut of the Donetsk region, but analysts do not record confirmed changes in the front line.

According to the statements of some Russian military commanders, Russian troops allegedly seized unspecified tactical positions near the railway station in Klishchiivka, but ISW analysts have no confirmation of this.

Russian bloggers also report heavy fighting in the Ivanovo area.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian military personnel report on positional combat operations northwest of Bakhmut near Bohdanivka, west of Bakhmut near Ivanivske and east of Chasiv Yar, and southwest of Bakhmut near Klishchiivka and Andriivka.

Analysts also draw attention to the recent advance of the Russian Federation's occupation army to the northwest and southwest of Avdiivka.

In particular, with reference to geolocation data, the ISW confirms the Russian occupiers' advance to the eastern outskirts of Berdychiv, northwest of Avdiivka.

In addition, the Russian army's advance along Pershotravneva Street in Pervomaiske, southwest of Avdiivka, is confirmed.

Russian "militants" claim that Russian troops are allegedly continuing their gradual tactical advance towards the centre of Pervomaiskyi.

In addition, on Mar. 12, Russian bloggers stated that the Russian military had expanded its control over Tonenke, west of Avdiivka, and captured new positions in the forest areas between Orlivka, west of Avdiivka, and Tonenke.

One "military source" noted on Mar. 13 that the heaviest fighting was between Berdychi and Tonenke, northwest of Avdiivka, but another Russian source said fighting had generally slowed in the area.

Ukrainian and Russian sources reported fighting northwest of Avdiivka near Berdychi and Novobakhmutivka, west of Avdiivka near Orlivka and Tonenke, and southwest of Avdiivka near Pervomaiske.

In addition, on Mar. 13, fighting took place to the west and southwest of Donetsk, but there were no confirmed changes in the front line.

One Russian "military officer" claimed that Russian troops continue to advance south of Novomykhailivka, southwest of Donetsk. Still, the terrain north of Novomykhailivka makes it difficult for the occupying forces to advance.

Ukrainian and Russian sources reported continued positional fighting west of Donetsk near Krasnohorivka and Georhiivka and southwest of Donetsk near Novomykhailivka and Pobeda.

On Mar. 13, limited positional combat operations continued in the section of the administrative border of Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions. Still, no confirmed changes to the front line were recorded in this section.

Ukrainian and Russian sources reported fighting southeast of Velika Novosilka near Novodonetske and Shevchenko and south of Velyka Novosilka near Staromayorske.

Fighting continues in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region in the south of Ukraine without confirmed changes to the front line.

Positional battles are taking place near Robotyne and Verbove.

According to the Russians, on the night of Mar. 12-13, Russian troops carried out a "limited raid" on the western (right) bank of the Kherson region, but without confirmed changes to the front line.

At the same time, the occupiers claimed that the marines of the Russian army, airborne troops and "volunteers" carried out a limited raid on the positions of the Armed Forces on the west bank of the Dnipro River in the area of the Antonivsky Bridge base.

The Russian "military corps" said units of the 45th Special Forces Brigade of the Russian Federation participated in the raid.

However, ISW experts did not observe any visual confirmation of Russian activity on the west bank, and there are no confirmed changes to the front line on the west bank of the Kherson region.

The AFU General Staff notes that hostilities continue in the Krynky area.
