According to the OSTG "Odesa" speaker, Col. Natalia Humenyuk, the Russian occupiers had to walk to the defensive positions of the Ukrainian military in the Krynky area on the left bank of the Kherson region due to the ban on the use of armoured vehicles.

What is known about the situation in the Krynky region of the Kherson region

Humenyuk emphasised that on the left bank of the Dnipro River, the Ukrainian military continues to hold the bridgehead and conduct combat work to expand it and strengthen defensive positions.

She also noted that on the eve of the presidential elections in Russia, the Russian occupiers continued to carry out political tasks of the Kremlin and storm the positions of the Armed Forces.

But all these efforts are fruitless. They continue to save on armored vehicles. They have a commander's embargo, i.e. a ban on using armored vehicles in assault operations, the spokeswoman emphasises.

According to her, the Russian occupiers made four attempts to storm the positions of the Ukrainian military in a day.

Forces to the detachment from different directions to reach the Ukrainian positions on foot. "They tried to knock us out of there by shooting," Humenyuk said.

She also added that due to the destruction of a significant number of enemy aircraft by the Ukrainian military, the occupiers are now limited in the use of guided aerial bombs.

What threatens the armed forces with an acute shortage of ammunition

According to the military-political analyst Oleksandr Kovalenko, the catastrophic shortage of ammunition in the Ukrainian military can lead to failures on the front line.

The most critical moment will be when we will not use artillery at all. That is, when the artillery battery will fire several shots per day. All this will lead to the front sinking and a breakthrough in certain locations that are most vulnerable and on which the greatest number of enemy groups are pressing, the analyst explains.

He also added that currently, the Russian Federation significantly outnumbers Ukraine in the number of projectiles fired, but the Kremlin has also reduced their use.

The situation is quite difficult, we have a deficit that does not allow us to carry out offensive actions. We even have a problem with defense due to the fact that there is no proportional distribution of ammunition between artillery units. In turn, Russia now receives significant support from North Korea, from Iran in this matter. And although they cannot shoot as many shots on average as they did in 2022, it is still much more than we can afford, Kovalenko notes.
