A nationwide air alert was declared at 5:54 a.m. Around 7:00 a.m., a series of explosions rang out in the capital. Vitaliy Klitschko, the capital's mayor, announced the work of the air defence forces.
At 7:42, explosions rang out again in Kyiv. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), air defence was working.
Consequences in the Dniproskyi district of Kyiv
As a result of a missile attack on Kyiv, debris was recorded in the Dnipro district of the capital. Operational services are on their way to the scene, the KCMA reported.
The city's mayor, Vitalii Klychko, said that medics went to the Dniprovskyi district of the capital after the explosions. One victim was treated on the spot.
Our correspondents inform that the light has gone out in some of the houses of the Dniprovskyi district. According to Klitschko, as a result of the Russian attack, the fragments of the missile damaged two high-voltage lines. Some consumers on the left bank are currently without electricity.
DTEK confirmed the information that some residents of the Dniprovskyi district were left without electricity due to shelling. Power engineers will inspect the damaged equipment and start repairs when the security situation allows.
Consequences in Holosiivsky District
Klitschko said the fire and rescue unit went to the Holosiivskyi district, where a building caught fire earlier.
Later, he clarified that there was a fire in an apartment building in the Holosiivskyi district. And in the Dniprovskyi district, two victims were injured. Both were treated by medics on the spot.
According to the KCMA, one person was injured in the Holosiivskyi district. Damage to the power grid was also recorded.
One victim was hospitalised by medics from a high-rise building in the Holosiivskyi district, where the fire occurred as a result of an attack by the Russian Federation, Klitschko clarified.
As a result of the attack by the Russian Federation, the heat supply, mainly on the left bank of the capital, was damaged. Specialists are finding out the extent and will immediately start repair work, Klitschko said.
