Russia's missile attack on Ukraine on January 23: The death toll in Kharkiv rose to seven

In Kharkiv, after the Russian missile attack on January 23, 7 people are already known to have died. The search operation is ongoing.

The Russian Federation struck Kharkiv on January 23

The State Emergency Service reports that the rescuers unblocked the dead woman's body from under the rubble of the destroyed high-rise building.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov announced on the air of a telethon that 62 wounded as a result of Russian strikes on Kharkiv on the morning of January 23 were taken to hospitals.

The occupiers targeted high-rise residential buildings, causing significant damage. An educational institution and other civilian infrastructure were also destroyed.

Russian missile attack on January 23

On the morning of January 23, Russian troops fired 41 rockets across Ukraine, attacking Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Pavlograd.

The troops of the Russian Federation used cruise, ballistic, aviation and anti-aircraft guided missiles. Air defence forces destroyed:

  • 15 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles;

  • 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles

  • One Kh-59 guided air missile.

At the same time, not all enemy missiles that attacked on a ballistic trajectory reached their targets.

In Kyiv, explosions and fires were recorded in Svyatoshynsky, Pechersky and Solomyansky districts.

In the capital, 22 people were injured, including four children, and 12 people were hospitalized. A total of 55 people were evacuated and rescued.

Twenty-eight objects, including residential buildings, medical facilities, educational institutions, and cars, were damaged.
