Russia's night attack on Ukraine: Explosions occurred in Dnipro and Kropyvnytskyi

On the night of 13 January, an air raid alert was declared in all regions of Ukraine, as cruise missiles were launched from Tu-95MS aircraft. In the morning, a MiG-31K fighter jet launched Kinzhal missiles.

What is known about the attack of Russia

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the launch of strategic missiles from the Caspian Sea at 5:32 am. It is known that the occupiers fired cruise missiles from Tu-95MS aircraft. An air raid alert was declared throughout Ukraine.

Later, the Air Force also reported the take-off of a MiG-31K fighter jet from the Savasleyka airfield in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, followed by the take-off of several more MiG-31Ks. There were also launches of Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.

It is known that the Kinzhal were moving in the direction of Dnipro, Kyiv, Rivne, and Kryvyi Rih. Cruise missiles, in turn, moved as far as the western regions.

They also launched Kh-31P missiles in the direction of the Beryslav district in the Kherson region.

In total, according to the monitoring groups, the Russians used 6 Tu-95MS, 6 Tu-22M3, 5 MiG-31K, Su-34/Su-35 aircraft and launched ballistic missiles from Crimea that night.

Consequences of the attack

During the massive attack, air defences were operating in many regions of Ukraine. As a result, residents heard explosions, among other things:

In the Dnipropetrovsk region explosions rang out in the Dnipro, it is known that the enemy directed Kinzhal missiles to the city.

Poltava region. A rocket fell into the yard of a private house in the Kremenchuk district. The rocket did not explode. Fortunately, no one was injured, but some outbuilding was damaged.

Chernihiv region. Explosions were heard in Chernihiv, and air defence systems were deployed there. Authorities report that there is damage, but have not disclosed details.

Kirovohrad region. Air defences were operating in the region. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage.

Rivne region. There were explosions due to air defence. There were no consequences.
